Valley of Fire Tour

Valley of Fire Valley-of-Fire

The Valley of Fire is about 50 miles north of Las Vegas and sits close to Lake Mead. This park is fantastic and is adorned with unique natural formations that make the earth seem as it's on fire! It was dedicated in 1935 and covers nearly 42, 000 acres! The formations are ancient, coming from sifting sand dunes during the age of the dinosaurs. Prehistoric people of Valley of Fire included the Anasazi, who were farmers from the nearby fertile Moapa Valley. Their visits to Valley of Fire probably involved hunting, food gathering, and religious ceremonies. There are fine examples of rock art (petroglyphs) at several locations throughout Valley of Fire.
